A diary is produced at the beginning of the bowling season listing all competitions and events known at that time for the duration of the season.

The diary is available on the website, and WhatsApp group and a paper copy can be found on the locker room notice board.

If you have difficulty finding a copy, ask any member or committee member.

The green is open for play daily.

Club bowls are available for use so you don’t need to worry about bringing your own, these should be left at the club.

Competitions are held most Saturdays from May to early September and you should refer to the diary for the competition and the notice board for times of play.

Occasionally there are inter-club matches on some evenings and the occasional Sunday. These are shown in the diary and on the Notice Board.

A bounce game is when members play on the green for fun or practice. As the season progresses, some rinks will be booked for competition ties.

This is a weekly competition between club members that allows for practice opportunities and to mix with other members.

You receive 1 point just for turning up! Points are tallied up throughout the season and teams differ each week depending on who manages along.

This is held on Wednesday nights from 6.30 pm and is easygoing and good fun.

Players pay £2 each week and this totals up, becoming prize money at the end of the season.

On occasion, the Green is closed for maintenance.

The Green Convenor will post a notice on the door to the locker room advising of any dates and times and update the club’s WhatsApp group.

Every member should have a locker to store their own bowls and bowling gear so arrange this as soon as you can with the committee. No club bowls should be stored within the lockers.

The bar is manned by volunteers and is usually open when any club fixtures are being played.

Tea/Coffee is available on a ‘make your own’ basis in the locker room.

Speak with the bar convenor should you have any questions.

There are various social events throughout the year and these will be advertised on the website, noticeboard, WhatsApp and Facebook.

There are lots of competitions held during the bowling season.

The competition entry sheets are posted on the notice boards in the Locker Room throughout the season.

For further information on rules on competitions please speak to a member of the committee or a current member of the club.

Photographs may be taken and used for social media and local press.

We hope the above will help you settle in quickly and start enjoying your new sport. Please ask any member for more information or explanations. We look forward to seeing you on the green and wish you all the very best for the season ahead,

Happy Bowling, from all at the Tarbert Bowling Club Committee.
